Years 5 and 6 work together under the direction of the class teacher Mrs Marchington, with the support and help of Mrs Jones. Together they make sure that we have access to a rich and varied curriculum with support and encouragement where necessary.
Every morning we talk, think, investigate and practise our maths skills and understanding. We read both independently and as a class. In Oak Class we also have opportunities to sing in the school choir, learn to play musical instruments and partake in out-of-school activities. We have strong connections with Bayford House and make regular visits to the elderly residents there. We take on roles of responsibility as House and Sports Captains and as members of the School Council. We continue to develop as independent learners and thinkers. We make links across the curriculum and ground our learning in real life situations so that it makes sense to us and is relevant to the way we live now as well as preparing us for the future.
